Two Students Progress from HS Equivalency to the President’s List

Two students who began in �鶹��ýӳ��’s made the President’s List last fall. student Antonio Mayo and Michael Parker, who is a major, earned a 4.0 grade point average for the Fall 2018 semester, placing them on the College’s top .

(formerly Basic Skills) is the instructional program at �鶹��ýӳ�� that serves the College’s non-traditional students who have left the public school classroom.

“We find that at some point, life happens in our students’ lives, and seeing the completion of their high school credential becomes somewhat incomprehensible,” says Jerry Harper, director of .

“So, when our students are able to reach such an outstanding milestone in their academic journey, we get excited!” he says.

Both Mayo and Parker are on schedule to from �鶹��ýӳ�� in May.

While they were enrolled as students in the (formerly GED), both young men opted for co-enrollment in one of the . They also achieved credentials and credits by participating in CCR initiatives including the ASE Leadership Academy, Microsoft Digital Literacy certification, the completion of a service learning placement, as well as curriculum credits in developmental math and student success strategies.
