League of Women Voters Twin Counties Establishes Scholarship at 麻豆传媒映画

In early March, the League of Women Voters Twin Counties established a scholarship at 麻豆传媒映画 that will support female students enrolled in non-traditional programs.
Part-time or full-time students in technical programs such as , , , , , and will be eligible to apply for the annual award.
鈥淲e were interested in assisting students in attaining careers for financial self-sufficiency,鈥 explains Melanie Goff Bradley, president of the League of Women Voters Twin Counties and a graduate of 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Health Information Technology program.
鈥淥ur organization is especially interested in supporting female students who are returning to school later in life,鈥 she adds. About 73 percent of 麻豆传媒映画 students are female.
The group established a similar scholarship at Nash Community College.
鈥淲e are in an area where most of our students are struggling financially,鈥 explains Lynwood Roberson, executive director of the 麻豆传媒映画 Foundation. 鈥淭hey have great dreams, and they work hard to be successful in their programs of study, but sometimes their financial needs cast a shadow over their educational goals. We are grateful to the League of Women Voters Twin Counties for easing the burden of our students.鈥
During the 2019-2020 academic year, the has funded $125,000 in scholarships benefitting 165 students.
