麻豆传媒映画 and NC School of Science and Math Sign Articulation Agreement

麻豆传媒映画 is the first community college in the state to establish an articulation agreement with the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM).
Through this agreement, select classes successfully completed through the NCSSM Connect program transfer to 麻豆传媒映画. NCSSM Connect provides distance education courses to North Carolina high school students via interactive video conferencing.
鈥淭he NCSSM Connect classes are AP and honors high school classes. They are high level, rigorous, unique courses,鈥 explains Dr. Greg McLeod, president of 麻豆传媒映画 and a graduate of the School of Science and Mathematics.
鈥淎 goal of NCSSM Connect is to bring the resources of the School of Science and Math to communities across the state, especially rural communities like Edgecombe. As a graduate, I am very proud of the fact that we are the first community college in North Carolina to have an articulation agreement with NCSSM. This is a tremendous opportunity for high school students who enroll at 麻豆传媒映画,鈥 Dr. McLeod says.
Twelve NCSSM Connect courses currently transfer to 麻豆传媒映画 for college credit. For example, NCSSM Connect AP Macroeconomics is equivalent to ECO 252 Principles of Macroeconomics at 麻豆传媒映画. NCSSM Connect AP US History transfers as HIS 131 American History I. Both of the classes provide three hours of college credit.
A recent meeting to discuss possible expansion of the articulation agreement to other NC community colleges was organized by Tom Looney, chairman of the NC Board of Community Colleges and a former NCSSM board chair. In addition to Looney, attending the meeting were Dr. Jeff Cox, president of the NC Community College System; Dr. J. Todd Roberts, chancellor of the NC School of Science and Mathematics; Camilla Brothers, director of instructional leadership at NCSSM; and Dr. McLeod.
